Transgender Day of Remembrance

Transgender Day of Remembrance honours those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia and to bring attention to the continued violence endured by the transgender community.

I was so encouraged when my NDP colleague Randall Garrison presented Bill C-279 in the House thanks to the years of hard work by activists across the country, and horrified when the Senate used transphobic amendments to kill it.

We must continue to work to ensure all lives are valued under the law.
