MP Report: Canadians Honour Our Veterans

On November 11 Canadians from coast to coast to coast honoured our veterans and those that are serving our country today.

We also commemorated our Aboriginal veterans on National Aboriginal Veterans Day.

Throughout history more than 2.3 million  people have served this country.  More than 100,000 have  made the ultimate sacrifice and were killed in active service in combat and in peacekeeping missions throughout the world.

We owe so much of the peace and freedom that we enjoy to our veterans.

It is important we remember our veterans, those in active service and their families. This includes many people in our own region.

It is also important to support veterans organizations like the ANAF and the Royal Canadian Legion for all the work they do not just on Remembrance Day, but throughout the year.

Remembrance Day is an opportunity for all of us to say thank you to our veterans and those in active service and their families.
