Indigenous rights: Time for action

Underfunded schools. Inadequate housing. Glacial progress on settling land claims and respecting constitutional and treaty rights.
Frustration is rising among First Nations, Inuit and Métis people—along with millions more Canadians from coast to coast to coast.
The way forward is through nation-to-nation dialogue, built on a foundation of respect.
That’s why NDP MP Romeo Saganash has put forward a bill to ensure Canadian laws are consistent with the UN Declaration—the right to quality education, to freedom from discrimination, to participate in decisions affecting traditional lands, and beyond.
It’s time. Let’s urge every Canadian MP to pass this bill unanimously through Parliament.
