May 27th, 2014 - 5:13pm
OTTAWA - Today NDP MP Niki Ashton welcomed to Parliament Hill Manitoba champions in the struggle against bullying, Krystal Kane and her son Jaren from Brandon, Manitoba.
"It is an honour to co-host Krystal and her son, along with my colleague NDP MP Dany Morin on Parliament Hill. Krystal and Jeron's initiative centred around the Anti-bullying blanket has built tremendous awareness in Manitoba and they are now getting the word out across the country." said Niki Ashton MP (Churchill).
Krystal Kane and her son had a busy visit to Ottawa including presenting at a high school, meeting with MPs and connecting with Jer's Vision, an organization that fights homophobia and bullying of LGBT youth.
"The NDP has been a clear champion against bullying in our schools, on our campuses and in our society. Manitobans have blazed the trail against bullying. We thank Krystal and Jaren for their leadership and bringing the message of so many Manitobans to our Parliament".
